I have a love hate relationship with Abu Garcia, there older reels like the buttleproof 7000 are the standard that others are measured by but some of their newer low profile far eastern imports have not lived up to their reputation. Still I am sure there are very few lure anglers who don't have a long love affair with an Abu.

I have watched a fair amount of how-to catch fish videos in my time, and often they are short on the how-to bit and little more aimed at shifting gear off a shelf or promoting a personality. This video from Steve Collett and Ecogear is really a great look the catching part and the techniques he uses to make himself one of the best lure anglers in the country. Let us hope this the start of something good.

Urban Fishing Lures - Making of from Giorgio Nasti on Vimeo.
From a basement in Italy, Urban Lures has started a little empire based on quality handmade balsa fishing lures. This is a really beautiful glimpse into his workshop by Giorgio Nasti a film maker based in Rome, lets hope he keeps pointing is camera at fishy subjects.
Currently Urban lures is selling through his facbook page (https://www.facebook.com/urbanfishinglures/) ,but a website is in the making. Meanwhile if the video doesn't wet you appetite enough check out the lure porn below.
I am not one for publicising brands especially ones that have a budget enough to do it themselves, but I have to be honest I like this video. Maybe there is too many gang signs and a little to many high fives but it made me want to grab my drop-shot box and jump on ferry to Rotterdam.
I remember the first time I saw this lure, you know when something is so good you have to pause for a little while and just say dam, and then pause some more and say dam again, and then a few more times until your tea gets cold. This is from BRKT baits of France it is a couple of years old but very fresh, dam it is good (I have said it again). Check out his blog for more dam fine originals http://bait-et-mechant.over-blog.com/ , Vive la France !
